Meadow mushroom. A choice edible. Found in the fall growing from lawns,
open fields, school yards and meadows. Be sure the gills are pink (when
young) or chocolate brown (when mature).
According to Steve Russell of
MycoMap.Com, "All specimens of Agaricus "campestris" we have are A.
argenteus or A. andrewii. Easily separated based on spore size. A. argenteus
larger than 8 micron. A. andrewii shorter than 8 micron."
