Cantharellus lewisii |
Finally given a name in 2011, this mushroom was previously listed here as Cantharellus cibarius, a European mushroom. Cantharellus lewisii is less common than the weedy smooth chanterelle (C. lateritius). This chanterelle can be found in the late summer and early fall under hardwoods, often oaks. An excellent edible. |
