The Oyster Mushroom. A good edible sought out by many for culinary delight. The younger specimens are always best when collecting for the table. Older mushrooms tend to get tough and stringy. Can be found practically year round when conditions are right: warm and wet. Grows directly from wood. Cap color can vary from shades of brown, tan and white. Caps can be circular or lobed. Gills run down the stem. White spore print. |
