The species epithet "varius" fits this polypore very well, as it can exhibit many different cap variations. The collection shown here represents the form with a radially streaked cap and reddish brown colors. Usually found during summer and fall. Grows from branches and sticks near gullies and other areas that remain moist during dry weather. |
