Candolleomyces candolleanus |
Formerly Psathyrella candolleana. This ubiquitous mushroom grows from wood, often buried wood making it appear terrestrial. Common in urban lawns and parks. Very fragile. The partial veil that protects the gills when young breaks apart as the cap expands and often leaves bits and pieces hanging from the cap margin. Candolleomyces candolleanus exhibits different cap characteristics at various stages of development and under certain weather conditions. Spore print dark brown. |
